April 19–24 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week—a time to celebrate the incredible individuals who make a difference at Valley every single day! While this week offers a special moment of recognition, we know our Volunteers in Action (VIA) sparkle and glow all year round. On any given day at Valley, you'll find volunteers in the moments that matter most—a warm smile at just the right time, a steady presence during uncertainty, or a quiet walk alongside someone in need of guidance. It's devotion, kindness, and heart that make Valley not only a place of care, but also a place of connection. Time and again, our volunteers show us that small acts of kindness can make all the difference. One patient, who arrived feeling especially nervous, shared how a volunteer changed their experience: "It's amazing how one person's kindness can change your whole experience." Another simply said, "The volunteers truly make you feel like family." We're deeply grateful for our more than 100 volunteers whose light radiates throughout our hospital and community. Because of them, we're able to shine brighter for the people we support day in and day out.
