Waupaca Foundry employees in Etowah, Tennessee saw an opportunity to give back to the community when Misty Webb, who learned that the Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville was in dire need of supplies. The team donated over $1,000 worth of paper products and non-perishable items helping the house serve 58,000 lives and counting.
After seven years of service, Vaughan retired as an E5 Sergeant and returned to work at Waupaca Foundry. Today he is a molding machine operator. Jeff's supervisor, Brett Himebaugh says, “He never takes shortcuts ... Jeff is a guy I can rely on to always do things safe while keeping the company's goals in mind. I have a lot of respect for Jeff and all he has done to serve not only our country but also Waupaca Foundry.”
Waupaca Foundry recently reconstructed broken iron castings in an effort to repair the framework for the liberty bell at the Waupaca Historical Society Hutchinson House. The preservation of its history is an important part of what makes up the Waupaca community.
Waupaca Foundry Storekeeper Douglas Daggett joined the US Army in 1992 and retired as a Supply Sergeant from the Army National Guard 23 years later. Doug's military career is storied and impressive!
Annually, we proudly honor our employee veterans. Tooling Supervisor, Wade Gray shares how his military career impacted his civilian work at Waupaca Foundry's machining operation located in Effingham, Illinois. Wade states, "I use my leadership skills from [the army] here. I push people to do better, just like they pushed me to do better in the army, so I think the US Army made me who I am today."
American Foundry Society awarded Waupaca Foundry the 2020 Green Foundry Award for its leadership in integrating sustainable business practices throughout manufacturing operations. Compared to 2010, Waupaca was able to achieve an overall reduction in energy consumption of more than 20% at all United States plants.
In his 3rd consecutive engineering internship at Waupaca Foundry, Ben Karpus gained more design experience while contributing to a large automation project.
