HORRIBLE INTERVIEW PROCESS!!! Applied online, few weeks later video interview, called in for what I consider a "CATTLE CALL" type of interview. They shuffle you around from group interview and face to face interview, was kept there the ENTIRE DAY, literally from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.!!! Just to be turned down with the MAJORITY of people interviewing. One of the face to face interviewers seemed a bit hostile, short and repetitive in her questions. They make the job seem like rocket science, which IS NOT! I've been a flight attendant before, it's not that hard, you serve people, you do it with a smile, you make sure everyone is safe, easy, simple. At the interview, Alaska Airlines makes it seem like being an FA is like being some elite, celebrity...please, it's a job for a company that pays the LOWEST in the industry. I'm glad I live in Los Angeles where the interview took place, because, word of caution, ANY airline that makes you pay for your own flight to go to their interview, DO NOT DO IT!! it speaks VOLUMES about the company because it costs them NOTHING to fly you in!!! i felt sorry for the people who were turned down and had paid for their own flight!! Out of almost 40 people at the interview, they ended up hiring 4...that's some SERIOUS B.S.!!! After they keep you there for a full day, just to tell you "thanks but no thanks", makes me realize that they are a HORRIBLE company, that does not value it's employees, they only value their "brand", which honestly is NOT THAT GREAT. Airlines need to stop trying to make it seem like working for them is such a "privleage"...it's not, ESPECIALLY NOT FOR AN AIRLINE LIKE ALASKA!!! They talk a heavy talk about "diversity", I didn't see it, they talk about "Family", yeah right, alot of them seemed like they were putting on a show, all the interviewers seemed very hyped up on the Alaska kool-aid, but it comes across as just pure show. At the end, when they turned me away the recruiter fed me some B.S. jargon about "if Alaska is really in your heart, please apply again in 6 months..." NO THANKS!!! Who says CRAP like that? IT'S A DAMN JOB NOT THE CURE FOR CANCER!!! They need to streamline their process, they need to NOT WASTE PEOPLES TIME, too much energy and show-boat antics that make me NOT BELIEVE in their "Alaska SPIRIT". Again, unless you live in the city they are interviewing, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, the odds are NOT IN YOUR FAVOR!!! And they OBVIOUSLY DO NOT value anyone's time but their own!!
