The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Boots (London, England) in May 2016
Interview
Firstly, I was taken to an interview room. We went around in a circle to tell each other one thing we love (doesn't need to be beauty related). Then we were asked about our experience.
We were then to do an exercise of using a selected range of products to do half of each other's face. We were shown how to do it, showing our 'customer' each step that we completed and telling them exactly what we were doing, what the product does and it's benefits.
After completing one half, we went onto the second half making friendly conversation followed by closing the sale and telling the 'customer' about any promotions in store.
This was when we were asked more questions about the company and ourselves. We were then taken out onto the shop floor where we had to approach customers and do exactly what we had just learnt using the same products.
I was then asked to observe the counter to see what could be done to improve it and the promotions followed by pitching my favourite product to the manager.
Finally, I was taken back to the interview room where the regonial manager, beauty department manager, business manager and store manager asked me further questions which resulted in a job offer.
It was very basic
It was an assessment, I had to bring proof to the No7 counter and make them buy No7 products.
It can challenging for people who do not like interacting with people
there were two interviews, stage 1 and stage 2. stage one in person customer interaction 1 hour long had to do customers makeup and product promotion, stage two online meeting
2 part interview, the first part of the interview you are on the shop floor they are marking you on your skills on how confident you are to approach a customer in the store and bring them back to store, make sure to try and get someone back that is what they are looking for, they will ask you to put some makeup on the customer they are not marking your makeup skills they want too see you won’t have a problem with approaching customers and bringing them back to counter.
If u pass this part of the interview they will then ask you back and do a formal interview they ask a lot of questions about what would you do in scenarios.
