I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Boots (Aberdeen, Scotland) in Sep 2015
Interview
I found so much help here for my interview that I thought I'd contribute something in return. I initially filled out some personal details and availability and instantly received an email to complete an online assessment. I completed it and was emailed the next day to arrange an interview time. I was told it would take up to 50 minutes and it would involve some customer interaction and that I should learn about a product that interests me. My actual interview was only 20 minutes with a lovely lady who made me feel very at ease. I had no previous work experience but this wasn't an issue at all. The store I was interviewing for had scrapped the customer interaction part of the interview as they thought it didn't really accomplish anything. Instead I was asked how I'd respond to certain situations like what I'd do if a teenager had lost the gloss from her hair and needed help, how to spot confident/uncertain customers. She then asked me to talk about the product I'd learnt about and then asked how I could sell it to her. There were a few standard interview questions too and I was offered the job on the spot. Definitely come prepared to answer any of the questions other people here have said they'd been asked because that's what I did and I found that all of mine had come up on here at some point! She also liked the fact I gave quite thorough answers.
A 60 minute long interview that consisted of questions about why I wanted to work at boots and the second part was seeing how I approach tasks on the shop floor.
One to one interview for only 10 minutes. First you need to introduce yourself and explain why you would like to work for boots. Then ask you what’s the good part and challenges you may face in this work.
