FloQast is a cool company, but here is some feedback I have for the team (and the reason why I didn't have an overall positive experience): 1. After my technical interview, I received an email saying that they had gone with another candidate and filled the role. Meanwhile, I had friends with onsites and technical interviews for the same role still scheduled for later that week. I also listened to an episode of Software Engineering Daily a few days later, where the Floqast CTO came on as a guest and told everyone that they were hiring. There's no need to lie or sugarcoat things. Just be honest and say that the team didn't decide see a fit to continue with interviews - we're adults and can take it. 2. Unlike other interviews, there was no point where it seemed like I wasn't doing well. The guy was very encouraging, which is cool. And I thought I did great. Where did I not do well? I have no idea. I'd much rather receive that feedback on the spot instead of being misled. 3. I'd love to have received feedback from either Adey or the engineer that interviewed me (but I understand why they wouldn't give it). Look, it's totally fine that I'm not moving forward with the interview process, but I'd like to know where I had gaps in knowledge or explaining things so I can interview well at other places. Just my feedback. Cool company, but I think the interview process could use some improvements.
