Fairly normal interview experience - started with a phone call, and then a panel interview with some of the team, and then one-on-one with the head of the department. There was a final stage of meeting with the CEO which all new potential hires would go through (I didn't get that far).

The company seems really cool, I chatted with a friend of friend who currently works there and he said the culture is awesome and that the manager that I was going to interview with is one of the nicest and most enthusiastic people around.
The following phone screen with said manager was one of the most awkward interviews I've participated in. Maybe he was having a bad day? Or he decided to have me be a "practice interview" before he interviewed people he thought were more qualified candidates? The manager seemed unsure of what he should ask and seemed defensive about his department and the level of technical skill that he perceived was necessary for the role.
All in all it was an uncomfortable and weird experience.
