I applied online. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Hartlepool, England) in Nov 2024
Interview
Was told prior to the interview to take notes of areas for improvement during a walk-around beforehand. I made a list before the interview and was able to read them off my phone. The interviewer typed down brief/compacted versions of these notes into a document.
I was asked why I believed M&S was ideal for me, how I could contribute, a roleplay question about Honeywells to check how many items are in stock for a customer, and how technology can improve the workplace.
Overall, it lasted less than 10 minutes. Had a friendly atmosphere and didn't feel intimidatingly formal.
I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (London, England)
Interview
The interview process was very straightforward, professional, and welcoming. It started with a brief introduction about the store's values and the expectations for the role, followed by a one-on-one conversation with the manager. We mainly discussed my previous experience, my flexibility for shifts, and how I would handle different customer service scenarios on the shop floor. It felt more like a friendly conversation than a rigid formal interrogation, which made me feel very comfortable.
