The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Triplebyte (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Quite a lengthy process and was rejected without any feedback during the process (no emails sent). I never got any feedback until I asked the co-founder for it. I passed multiple choice Android test first try which wasn't too hard. I had an interview for an hour where I had to do tic-tac-toe and passed that. Then I had to schedule the two hour interview which included navigation drawer problem. I also was given some very random trivia questions which I had never been asked before that didn't have anything to do with Android development but more web stuff which I thought was uncalled for. Plus, I could just look them up online if I wanted to. They were quite basic and could be looked up in like less than 1 min.
In the end, I was told that I did pretty well compared to other candidates by the interviewer but no offer. I also was told a bunch of untrue stuff like "there were communication problems" which I never heard of during the interview and don't know where they came up with that. In addition, I was told that I didn't have enough "depth of Android experience" which confused me since the interviewer didn't really go into depth about Android anyway. Also, it took them over the stated 24-48hours for my status to update on the website, so shame on them for that.
I thought it was supposed to be blind interview too yet the interviewer asked what my previous employment was and which university I went to at the end.... It goes against their whole premise of the "blind" interview process and just opens up pedigree bias.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
navigation drawer problem, tic-tac-toe. I don't remember the trivia questions this time sorry, but the system design is how you would do facebook (posts with likes and comments so basically fb really...) even though the interviewer admitted he didn't use facebook!!!!
