Pros

Nice location near Independence Mall. Decent benefits, especially health insurance.

Cons

Lack of flexibility to work from home. No paid parental leave. Poor pay except for upper management and the CEO, especially. Very old-fashioned office culture. Unpleasant office space. The AACR's response to the pandemic has been incredibly problematic. Leadership's decision making has been poor and scientifically uninformed. This is an organization that kept trying to make its staff (who are all inessential to the basic functioning of society) to come to the office full-time and at full capacity at the height of the pandemic, when there was no vaccine available, for no other reason that wanting to "return to a sense of normalcy." The wellbeing of employees continues to be ignored as the delta variant surges.

Wonderful place to work

Pros

The organization has a relatively low turnover rate and big growth plans over the next few years. The salaries and benefits are competitive. The work and the people are extremely interesting. A very smart, intellectual, academic employee population. The atmosphere is typically very quiet and serene. The office is in a great location, accessible to all forms of public transportation....right across from Independence Hall. Plenty of growth opportunities if you are patient. If you expect to be running the company after a year, then this probably isn't the place for you.

Cons

The organization is by no means perfect but still a wonderful place to work. It is a little odd to read reviews of discontent. This organization like any organization has its share of "Debby Downers," the types that no matter what an organization does will still be unhappy....they're just unhappy people in general. You could give them a gold brick and they'd complain that it was too heavy. It is those types that like to be heard through vehicles such as this.
