Pros

Casual environment. People are easy going. Good benefits and guaranteed raises every year. Winter and Spring break off. Tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Poor communication at all levels. IT understaffed and unable to keep up current trends in software. Hiring process can take anywhere from 4 - 6 weeks. No sense of urgency or sense of responsibility. Deadlines are ignored, meetings have no agendas or purpose and that seems to be ok with people. Poor employee recognition - leadership does not role model values of the college.

Pros

We have a liberal vacation policy, and paid holidays, Health insurance and retirement.

Cons

ACC has grown tremendously over the last 20 years, a lot of emphasis is placed on the New Campuses and very little on the older ones. Also new Administrators have gradually replaced the ones who helped start the College, their commitment to ACC and how we got to where we are is questionable. It all seems to be about their next position or hefty raise.

Working with the students was very rewarding. Loved it when the students reached their highest potential and graduated with the regular classes.

Cons

Head instructor didn't treat the program as important as she should have for the student's served. Or students were learning impaired in college.
