Look, I’ve had many jobs over my career, but ACE was and is the biggest highlight of my career. While I was only there for under a year, in that short time I saw my boss receive a promotion (and several others in different departments) and a complete culture shift to having a focus on truly rolling out realistic deliverables that really served the customer first. Had I not received an opportunity of a lifetime, I would still be there.
James Breen, my direct manager is one of the top humans I’ve ever met. He empowers you to do your job that you were hired for. No ego, true inclusivity in the design process and zero drama. Which in itself deserves an award. Axel, my boss’s boss is also a stand up guy and went out of his way to accommodate my Onboarding requests. And last but not least, Jason, the VP Of IS is such a man of character. I was able to participate in what they called fun club and he was willing to dress as a pink fairy with a tutu as a prize to the winning team. You cannot ask for better leadership, work environment or quality of people.
If you get the chance to work at ACE don’t mess around and jump at the opportunity. Seriously, I was a bit hesitant at first due to the industry, however ACE single handedly help revive my passion and my career.
While I can’t speak for other departments, I can speak to HR. In my time there I worked with Justin Yow (recruiter) who is a super nice guy, Susan Wells who single handedly implemented gas delivery as an employee perk (ps I miss this perk) and even helped the security guard when she lost her mother.
Phenomenal people with a focus on the right people and customers.
Cons
There really weren’t any. Just had a once in a lifetime opportunity otherwise I would still be there. Truly a great place.
