Pros

The company offers great health benefits, and the majority of the employees are nice people to work with. They also support the community, which is nice.

Cons

Not competitive with pay, and the mindset of the executives and upper management is simply outdated. They seem to think that working here is a gift and that people should be happy to be overworked and underpaid. There's also a somewhat sexist environment. The CEO and every person who reports to him are all white males, and the expectation among most is that women should always be pleasant and agreeable - it's ok for men to speak up and disagree, but women get a bad reputation for it.

Pros

I joined AFL in 2010 and even though I had 25+ years of Product Management and Regional Sales Managers experience, I did not have much knowledge about Fiber Optic Cable and or Connectivity Products. AFL’s product marketing, engineering departments, sales support, field technicians, and customer service representatives are the best and “state of art”. Each individual department took me under their wing and through one on one seminars, plant tours, and joint customer visits brought up to a level that allows me to succeed as an AFL Regional Sales Manager. I would recommend AFL to any individual looking to settle in with a company that has the vision in providing solutions to an every changing industry such as the Power Utility Industry. AFL provides a great competitive salary and benefit package.

Pros

AFL is a great place to work. I am valued and feel welcomed to bring suggestions for improvement to senior management. The bureaucracy that exist within some organizations feels non-existent. It is a "get it done" atmosphere from top down.

Cons

It is a fast paced environment that can sometimes leave even the most motivated employees feeling overwhelmed.
