      Questionable Management decisions

      Pros

      They have been trying to be successful for a very long time

      Cons

      - only a three people understand the entire software system - there is no roadmap for succession - they hired 6 in software in August, and then my January found that they were not keeping sales where they needed it to be. Discovered a $4MM shortfall and laid of 14 people. - they don't have a software development process that is in line with the certification they want to achieve.

      Good engineers, no money, poor management that thrives on nepotism

      Pros

      The technology is pretty cool and the location attracts people. They have really good engineers, including a phenomenal sales engineer that knows every tiny detail about the system. Their longest-tenured mechanical engineer is the best I've worked with in almost 30 years of hi-tech work, same with the longest-tenured software and systems engineers.

      Cons

      Pervasive bullying, harassing and abusive behavior, expect retaliation by upper management for those who dare speak up. $$$. Company is always scraping for money and has an extensive record of layoffs. Need to prototype something, say some prayers first. Want a raise? Either wait for a layoff and demand a raise to return, or threaten to quit. CEO has serious anger management issues and frequently screams out obscenities at the tiniest perceived slight.

      Pros

      The people and management. Two of the leadership team in particular are amazing. Excellent communicators. They really listen and empower their teams to act. We are seeing large changes in the operations side of the business really nailing down processes and procedures. We've just hired several new s/w engineers to work on projects and integrate/streamline our older software. Also, the management is very flexible, allowing employees to work various schedules to meet their needs. Benefits are good and we just increased PTO to four weeks a year for everyone plus holidays.

      Cons

      We've had some turn over this year. Not as many sales as hoped, but the pipeline is long and very encouraging.
