Pros

Nice colleagues and cute area.

Cons

Out of touch management forcing employees back into the office. Good employees leaving for higher paying remote jobs and leaving bare bones staff. Certain leaders unqualified to do their jobs and lack understanding of the entire industry, merely just a fan of the organization and there to fly and waste AOPA money sending themselves to events. Complete lack of accountability. Nothing is actually accomplished each day.

Pros

Great place to work if you are a pilot.

Cons

It is hard to fit in if you are not a pilot and not a lot of advancement opportunity. The organization has a lot of great ideas but upper management has too many competing goals and not enough collaboration. Multiple departments and lots of red tape hinders progress.

Pros

The people are friendly and intelligent. There is an excellent vibe of teamwork and comradery. Before Covid, AOPA really made an effort to do fun company-wide activities. It will probably resume when things return to normal. It really is a great place to work and you'll find some true and lasting friendships here. AOPA has adapted to new technology better than most places and offers flexible work options.

Cons

Siloed communications. Too much focus on diversity, to the point where it's not in line with our membership base and staffing decisions are made based on it, which does not always reflect best candidate choice. Have gotten away from processes too much for routine things, making simple tasks overcomplicated. Benefits, while good, are being chipped away at every year.
