Pros

People are very friendly and approachable. I've never felt uncomfortable reaching out for collaboration or help from other teams. Tons of opportunity for professional development. Pretty good insurance and vacation.

Cons

Within a year of my start date I became the second most tenured member of my team. The company wasn't offering competitive salaries but the compensation wasn't a huge concern for me because of the great work life balance and office relationships. It was decided we go from fully remote to 1 day in the office per sprint to 1 day in the office per week to 3 days per week with the explanation: "people who voluntarily work from the office don't have anyone to talk to".

Pros

Nice work environment, good equipment Met many amazing and talented people at AVEVA They have really well developed processes and standards for working Great technology stack and the lead engineers are geniuses and really down to earth Most of management is very professional and kind

Cons

I only left the company because my immediate manager was cruel and had a bad temper. When I went to his manager to complain about the unprofessional conduct, there was nothing they would do because these two managers had been long time friends. They wouldn't even move me to a different team as I requested. I really wanted to continue working there because of how good the technology was and how smart my colleagues were, but being stuck under a bad manager was the only reason I couldn't give them a 5 star review. Even with all that I really respect those managers technical abilities even though they didn't have the best people skills.

Pros

Flexible type of work styles, remote work is great. 6% 401k matching

Cons

AVEVA compares itself to other software companies, but its benefits package is way below the market, healthcare benefit(BlueHPN ) is a joke, AVEVA provides the most minimum possible benefits to save money, instead of taking care of employees as much as possible. Once you join the company, it's almost impossible to move to other groups and and learn other technologies, the AVEVA groups do not talk to each other and do not care about each other. You will get stuck in the same position and have almost no opportunities for growth. The current technology stack feels so 2000's, and it struggles to move past it. Company keeps talking about moving the products to the Cloud, but it doesn't spend money training its employees to work towards the goal, It will not magically happen. Managers are so uninspiring and boring, the few good ones end up leaving the company for better companies. Managers/VP/Directors often pad each other's back, but the little guys that actually do the work get zero recognition. Some managers get promoted to higher positions, but should have been fired instead, but due to the lack of a proper HR department and HR staff, bad managers flourish in this company, this makes some employees to quit.
