Badly led, male dominated company that used to shine now its sinking with no hope in site

Pros

Up until about 2020 the company was doing good. Colleagues were mainly decent humans.

Cons

The company is severly discriminating women, but it's all nicely hushed and covered up in a fake belief about diversity and inclusion. It's mainly men supporting men in leadership, which after two rounds of layoffs is clearly not doing them much good. They are reluctant to change their models which clearly dont work in today's market. their bad decision making has led the company to two big rounds of layoffs. The leadership team is clearly incapable of leading in stormy weather. The whole management needs changing.

Pros

* The people are amazing, everyone is passionate and (in my experience) wonderful to work with. What's more I felt like I could communicate my thoughts and feelings to my manager and team, and have genuine conversations without feeling judged. * Of course the product itself is great, it felt good to be contributing to something that felt important and relevant to my interests

Cons

* Really not great pay, especially in these trying economic times. They haven't had even inflationary raises in the past few years, so essentially I felt like I was just getting less money with time. * Nearly all the appealing benefits disappeared (urban sports, headspace, a Push device etc). It felt like a big bummer to be told I'd receive these things and it was never followed through with due to lack of funds * Career progression felt difficult and vague, gaining responsibility and independence was a challenge due to niche/legacy nature of the technology
