Pros

Pros for the CBT role include coworkers who are good people, workday ends by 4:15pm, and flexible with part-time schedule. PTO accrual rates are good, but I believe they are set to change for the 23-24 school year.

Cons

In the last school year, new management stepped in and failed to communicate with employees about changes that were being made. Although new management was in the process of fixing errors and inequities in pay created by previous management, the communication between upper management and the clinic team really fell through. As a CBT I felt I was often unheard by both the academic team and the management. Within the clinic, BCBAs did not provide constructive criticism for employees so people who were executing treatment plans incorrectly never got to learn what they were doing wrong. I also feel that the overall approach to behavior management was unhelpful for some students, whose harmful behaviors were excused and went unaddressed.

Pros

There’s many other BCBAs at this place with a loveable staff for the most part. You can learn a lot here if you are a beginner to social jobs or ABA. Stay here if you wish to learn before transitioning to a more experienced place

Cons

The administration team is novice (not the clinical side) as they do not communicate well or leave the team in tough situations that make the treatment very difficult to implement as it needs to be revised or improvised on the spot. This is not always doable. There’s also times where concerns are raised for safety such as this summer, the environment where the treatment is being implemented is in a building with construction occurring where a locker almost feel on a learner.

Thank you for your review. As we continue to grow as an organization, we had an immediate need for more space. This meant a new building with brand new updates to make it functional for our staff and learners. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances with the supplied contractor from our landlord, construction was not done on time. Rest assured, safety hazards have been rectified. If ever a staff member sees a safety concern or immediate hazard, please let an administrative team member know immediately. -APL Administration
