Pros

The work life balance was very good. Every department in the company was willing to help one another. I was very proud to work for them.

Cons

At times it was tough to get everyone together at the same time to work on projects/RFP’s. There seemed to be a lot of conference calls weekly that interrupted your daily planning.

Thank you very much for your positive review. I appreciate that you went out of your way to post something positive after your experience at Access. It really means a lot to me. I am glad the work life balance was sound and that you were able to work collaboratively across the departments - collaboration is one of our core values. I do understand the challenge of getting everyone to work together at the same time on the same item. We can always do a better job prioritizing, which if we were doing really well, we wouldn't have this problem. And, yes, we probably do too many conference calls. I know that I feel that way at times, too. That is, again, about prioritization and making sure that our desire for open and transparent communication is balanced with time available to complete tasks at hand and making good use of everyone's time. I work hard to respond to emails/questions/concerns, including doing so publicly on our monthly FACTS webinars and doing so truthfully, but I hear you that you didn't think we were consistent. I would love more information here, but you have commitment to make sure we are consistent and appreciate you sharing your advice here - we can always get better. Thanks again for you review and please feel free to email me at ralston@accesscorp.com. Best, Rob

Pros

Fast growth and opportunities to advance within the organization.

Cons

With the many acquisitions of competitors there is real sense that the company has become just another Recall with a hint of Cintas (and not in a good way). Although they teach you the company vision and team team team, there are many cliques at all levels. If you are not part of the right one you will be limited.

Thank for your review. I appreciate you taking the time to voice your thoughts here and I am glad that you see that our fast growth can provide lots of opportunity. 2017 was a particularly challenging year at Access and we did not do a good job communicating within the organization. We worked to transform many functions in the organization - centralizing Client Experience, relocating our Finance and Accounting function from California to Boston, restructuring our regions/areas in operations, and the list goes on. The result of not communicating during that change is that our motives for the changes were, and rightfully so, questioned and the experience for our clients and many of team members suffered. Both our client and team member survey (not to mention glassdoor reviews) scores show that both team members and clients struggled this year and I am sorry that we didn't manage through all of these changes better...but, we are getting through it and 2018 will be different and better and we will communicate a lot more. I don't want to ever be another Recall, Cintas or any other company. I aspire to only be Access and I do want Access to be the very best, including providing the very best service. I will not waiver from that aspiration - that is (one of) our goal(s). It is not our intent, nor is it the intent of our private equity backers, to simply make for "the very best bottomline", but I can see how you would feel that was after this past year and I don't think there is anything I can say here to change your perspective, but I would note that in addition to all the transform I mentioned above, we also made significant investments in the business (that drove profitability down a bit, not up, actually) and will make many more significant investments this coming year. These investments are for long term growth and sustainability, not a quick buck. We improved Human Resource leadership this year, including hiring a new director of learning and development to help provide better training and education and the new HR leadership should help to break down any of the cliques that you mention (this is the first time I am hearing of such cliques, so more detail would be appreciated) in the organization. Additionally, we will continue to invest behind our growth initiatives including software, sales and marketing, acquisitions, etc...And, I am firm believer that growth does provide opportunity, so there should be no way for a clique to limit your opportunity. Since you're a current team member, you know I have an open door policy that I take very seriously, so please feel free to email anytime at ralston@accesscorp.com. Thanks again for your review, Rob

Pros

I worked with some great people within my department.

Cons

They don’t care about the employees at all, they find ways to cut jobs and give the extra work to others with absolutely no pay increase. The branch I was located at was FULL of drug addicts including management. It’s just brushed under the rug. If there as ever an actual “random” drug test half the branch would get let go. But we all know that will never happen.

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for the delay in responding. I read each and every comment and take value from all of the constructive feedback we receive. I am happy to hear you had some great co-workers. We do work hard to build a top notch team and hope to retain them by treating them well. I am sorry to hear you think we miss the mark in that area. While I openly acknowledge that things at Access aren’t perfect (you can read that in many of my other responses) we do provide a forum for gathering team feedback to address any issues that people have. This includes annual benefits surveys and team member surveys. I read EVERY SINGLE WORD of the results from each and every one of those feedback loops (again, plus here on Glassdoor.com). While we do streamline our workforce from time-to-time, as do most (if not all) businesses, to become more efficient, it is never intended to overwork and/or underpay our team members. We believe a true sign of a great company is one where workers are valued as their greatest asset and one that invests in its team members. We do value our team members and we do invest in them, but I am sorry that you feel otherwise. We also have a very detailed drug and alcohol policy. The object of Access’s Drug and Alcohol Policy is to provide a drug-free, healthy and safe workplace for all team members which complies with federal and state law. We take this very seriously and would not hesitate to pull a person from their duties if there was a reasonable suspicion that they may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Supervisors are also required to report immediately to the Human Resources Department any team member action or observations that suggest a Team Member may be impaired by drugs or alcohol. I realize you are no longer an employee but I strongly encourage you to email me directly with your concerns. We take this very seriously, but your review is anonymous as to location, so know that I will personally take the time to look into and rectify the situation, if there is one. Please contact me at ralston@accesscorp.com to provide the location where you worked. If you are uncomfortable contacting me directly, please do help the remaining team members by reporting the drug abuse through our hotline. The Navex Global EthicsPoint service number is 1-855-901-8890. We want to keep a drug free and safe workplace. We also provide an Employee Assistant Program where team members can talk with counselors face-to-face or by telephone about personal issues or concerns. I simply have a hard time believing that we have a branch full of drug addicts, as you suggest, but if we do, I want to help improve the situation and help those team members. We are improving every day, and with the feedback provided by people like you, we can continue improve and grow in ways that matter most to the team. Thanks again for taking the time to leave this review, Rob
