Pros

Learned what leadership values( $$) as opposed to what matters (children and families being served).

Cons

Very toxic environment with too many supervisors and not enough educators as it is a revolving door for anyone in a teaching role.

We would like to address your concerns as you mention them. 1) We have expanded our recruiting efforts to diversify our staff and centers to match the needs of the population and embrace the differences in all individuals. We value diversity and seek those that might speak a second language as it could be utilized with the community we serve. 2) We have professional development plans for all staff and if needed, corrective action procedures. 3) At this time, all of our Head Start Teachers join us at the rate of $30,845/yr in Camden/Philly. There are opportunities for Teachers to move up through our Teacher Tier program and professional development plan. Teachers could potentially move into leadership roles if that's the path for them. There are also District Teacher opportunities for those who have their preschool teaching certificate or obtain it while with us. 4) Any aggressive or challenging behaviors are addressed with a plan and training for staff is provided. 5) Upon incidents, an investigation is conducted, and everyone is treated fairly. We do not share the consequences of other staff involved due to confidentiality. 6) We have a policy regarding the employment of relatives. There is no differential treatment. We take all allegations of unfair treatment very seriously. You may call HR at 215-235-3196 to further discuss your claims.

Pros

Intensive orientation period and hopeful aspirations for the program. Leadership seemed young and engaged. Support from headquarters seemed readily available.

Cons

The other advocates very not warm or welcoming to "newbies", pay is low in respect to the expectations. Roles are not clearly defined an "everyone's job" attitude. Lots of waste and inefficiency
