Pros
Loved being on the road and overnight travel. I loved working autonomously with little supervision. If you know what you're doing, the work is satisfying.
Cons
Jobs early in the morning, late in the evening, overnight and on weekends. Don't apply if you plan to have a life outside of Acuative. I was laid off in the blink of an eye by the way, even though I had numerous accommodation letters and positive reviews by supervisors and project managers. Apparently I was cut for geographical reasons after the company lost a major customer, even though I was 2nd in seniority in my area. The company dropped jobs in my route for the weekends without even asking. After hours coverage included being called out after an 8 hr day. Plus, you were expected to cover your FULL workload the next day. Sleep was optional. They have a clever way of NOT paying you overtime by using some insane formula to have you working 1.5 hrs a day on your own nickel. Overtime is computed on a 40hr work week basis. 1hr a day for travel on your own time: 25 miles (1/2 hr) to work, then 25 miles (1/2 hr) from work plus 1/2hr for a lunch you never have time to take. Travel time is computed at 50 miles per hr. So if it took you 2hrs to get home in a traffic jam that was only 30 miles of travel, that was out of your pocket. I was told by a labor law attorney this practice is legal but questionable.
