AcuityMD is building a great company the right way
Pros
To start, it's easy to draw a straight line between the work we're doing and the positive impact that work is having on our customers' ability to get innovative medical technology to providers and patients. On top of that, the company has articulated and lives by a simple set of values that drive transparency, empathy, perseverance, and a constructive, supportive environment. The remote-first strategy has brought great diversity from numerous angles and has leveled the collaboration playing field (e.g. no Zoom vs. conference room dynamic) and the company has invested a lot in creating opportunities for people to be together at team off-sites, the hackathon, and the company kick-off. Maybe most important (to me, at least) is that I genuinely feel welcomed, respected, and valued here and I feel surrounded by awesome people who are passionate about what we're trying to accomplish as a company.
Cons
I've been through several startup experiences in my career and I don't have any cons to report at AcuityMD. The startup life can be a little chaotic and to be successful, you have to think flexibly and be able to pivot when needed. That's also the case here, but it makes it exciting for me, and the community and mission we've built makes it all feel worthwhile.
