Pros

Comfortable place to work. Depending on department, you can ensure a work-life balance and leave work at home. Competitive salary for nonprofit sector. Unlimited sick days.

Cons

Very hierarchical, so it can be difficult to get people to collaborate or listen if there are major differences in title (or years at the organization). There is little-to-no room for growth unless another employee leaves. While the salary is competitive for nonprofits, there is a very stark contrast between managerial/director/vice president salaries and executives (nor is there any real cap on bonuses for execs). Culturally can be cliquey and, given its size, difficult to integrate yourself. There are some difficult personalities, but no initiatives to help mediate or correct behavior.

Racist Organization - Close to zero diversity!

Pros

Unlimited Sick days Good work life balance most days

Cons

Racist organization - it is only filled with white females, even though they promote diversity but there is zero diversity within the organization. They continue to hire same kind of white females for majority of their roles. There is no upward growth and transparency. People are in the same roles for 10 years and are not promoted. The executive body and higher management takes ridiculous salaries despite being a non-profit but the employees actually putting in the time and work are not paid that well. There is no consistency - some people can work from home and take unlimited vacation days and for others it is frowned upon. People who have been working there for 10-15 years specially the VPs, SVPs and Exec body think they own the organization and are resistant to change and new ways.

Pros

The warm fuzzy feeling that you're changing the world through advertisements (just ignore the fact that most of our metrics can't definitively say that we're making a difference).

Cons

Horrible pay. Understaffed. Incredibly cliquish.
