Pros

You can have a job that pays bills.

Cons

Management has gone downhill for years. Experienced leaders left, and younger staff stepped up while carrying forward the worst habits of the old managers. Jobs aren’t profitable anymore because of constant mistakes—bad build info, angry homeowners, and contractors who don’t care to fix poor company decisions. Morale is extremely low. If you quit, leadership will try to blackball you from the industry. They’ve even contacted companies to talk badly about people who left, and pressured sales reps who started their own businesses into shutting them down. The mission statement about being “an excellent company in which to do business” is a flat-out lie. The focus is profit over quality every time. Employees can make 30–50% more at other roofing companies with far less stress and toxicity. Even current leadership knows things are broken—directors and top level production members have openly said they’re looking elsewhere. The whole system is crumbling because executives prioritize their vacations, houses, and cars instead of building a solid company. If you don’t drink their Kool-Aid, you’ll be ostracized. This company is diseased from within and deserves the collapse it’s facing.

This review is flat-out false. To be clear: • It is false that we blackball former employees. We do not call other companies to “talk badly” about people. • It is false that profit comes before quality. Our mission and core values put quality, safety, and integrity at the center of every project. • It is false that jobs are “no longer profitable” due to mistakes. Our teams deliver thousands of successful projects each year with strong customer satisfaction. • It is false that leadership “knows the system is crumbling.” We’ve been consistently recognized as a Top Workplace by the Chicago Tribune, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, USA Today, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel based on independent, confidential employee surveys. • It is false that we are a “toxic” or “diseased” workplace. We invest heavily in career development programs and in Advocate Cares, our nonprofit sponsorship program that gives back to the community. We encourage anyone reading this to look at the many positive employee reviews—or better yet, speak directly with one of our current team members. Independent, third-party surveys have consistently recognized us as a top workplace, and our employees take pride in what they accomplish here. Not everyone will love what we do or love working here—that’s true for any company. Still, this review has us scratching our heads, because it simply doesn’t reflect the culture, values, or results our team experiences every day.

We appreciate your recognition of the generosity and friendliness within our workplace, as those are values we’re proud of and work hard to foster. At the same time, we take concerns about inappropriate language very seriously. Everyone deserves a respectful and professional environment, and any behavior that makes others uncomfortable is not acceptable or reflective of the culture we are committed to maintaining.

Pros

I truly enjoy working here. The workplace environment is collaborative and supportive, and my coworkers make it a great place to come to every day. The company values work-life balance, which allows me to be productive at work while also having time for personal priorities. The benefits package and compensation are competitive, and there are clear paths for career development if you’re motivated to grow. I also appreciate the commitment to diversity & inclusion, as it creates a respectful and welcoming culture where different perspectives are valued. The management team and senior leadership are approachable and transparent, and I feel like my voice is heard. Overall, it’s a place where you can thrive both personally and professionally.

Cons

No major concerns to note. Like any company, there are challenges, but leadership is receptive to feedback and open to improvement.
