Pros

Being able to help families in there time of need!!

Cons

Pay scale changes with what job your doing. If there is no work you have NO paycheck. Barely get a chance to see your family. Headquarters will not back field supervisors. Field technicians steal. And they over charge families all the time and have gone after family homes if there insurance carrier won't pay the bill.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Opinions of all of our employees, current and former, are important in helping us grow and improve the company. I am sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We have a strong commitment to helping families in need, and that means being available whenever and wherever they need us. We understand that this commitment means that sometimes our employees are called out to provide emergency response outside of normal business hours. This unpredictability also means that there will be on and off peak work schedules – some weeks may require longer hours, while other weeks require fewer hours. This is why we offer overtime and holiday pay to compensate for the variability. We recognize that our business is unique and tests our employees both physically and emotionally given the types of situations that we respond to; it is also one that requires a different type of lifestyle. Our first priority is to help families and businesses in their time of need, regardless of their financial situation. We guide families through the claims process if they are using homeowners insurance, and offer a variety of flexible payment options if they require financial assistance. We promise to work with families on payment options and we have, and will continue to, uphold that promise. Aftermath prides itself in providing excellent service, and this certainly does not include misconduct of any kind. We hold our employees to the highest standards of integrity and honesty. We take allegations of theft or misconduct very seriously, and will conduct a full and confidential investigation. Please share the details of any alleged employee misconduct with us by writing to hr@aftermath.com; your submission will be confidential. We appreciate your feedback.

Pros

There is no longer anything good to say about this company. I only gave it even 1 star because I had to in order to post.

Cons

As of December 31st (we were notified December 28th) the company has all but eliminated administrative hours when employees are not on a biohazard removal “call out”. All jobs, upon hiring, were advertised, presented and signed off as full time positions. We were to have 40 hours per week administrative/office time, at minimum wage, if we were not dispatched to a cleaning job. A few days ago the company, nation wide, reduced all admin time to an average of 8 hours PER WEEK to be divided among all employees in each shop (anywhere from 2 to 9 people per shop). We are also expected to remain “available” for callouts anytime of day or night with no standby pay, effectively preventing us from working a second job. No one can live this way, and they are forcing us to quit so they don’t have to pay higher unemployment rates for terminating or laying us off. We are suddenly virtually unemployed and uninsured. It’s reprehensible. Same company as Service Master, fyi.

Pros

Not as dirty a job as you might think. Lots of driving. Company pays for hotel stays. Typically works Monday through Friday.

Cons

Work is not steady... rotation means you have to wait your turn for a job. Could go days without work. Workers clock "office work time" to hang out and pick up hours. "Politics".

We have a strong commitment to helping families in need, and that means being available whenever and wherever they need us. We understand that this commitment means unpredictability in hours worked. We are transparent and upfront about on and off peak work schedules – some weeks may require longer hours, while other weeks require fewer hours. This is why we offer overtime and holiday pay to compensate for the variability. We also offer paid administrative, training, and marketing hours for off peak hours that aim to improve our field teams and our presence in a local market.
