A great place for practical research

Pros

Engaging and challenging work on interesting research topics! Work with some very smart people in the field. Push forward the cutting edge of technology.

Cons

Major wait time at the beginning of employment while waiting for accounts and network clearances to be set up. Mentors were very often out of town and hard to contact.

There are many knowledgeable people in the field. You can learn meany skills when working. Lots of advancement and easy to move form different projects.

Cons

Strict working knowledge ie you cannot talk openly about what you are doing especially when it is in prototyping and new item development

Working for the U.S. government has its obvious advantages. The people who work there are passionate, and the environment allows for a diverse range of projects to be worked on simultaneously.

Cons

The office building itself was not the most pleasant environment. The computers were somewhat outdated, and the paperwork required was significant.
