Pros

Helping people and providing a service to smaller communities that don't have access to higher levels of healthcare.

Cons

Unprofessional training staff at the training center. Little to no materials given for learning about the aircraft. Check airman who don't understand their role nor authority within the training facility. Completely disconnected on how to teach and listen to concerns from pilots on learning new aircraft. The entire experience was a joke. The disfunction and unprofessionalism throughout that place is very concerning given the important work and industry they're in. I would definitely think twice before accepting an offer from air methods.

Lost focus of the mission

Pros

Good level of competence of front line staff.

Cons

Since restructuring management nothing has improved. Still have complete non aviation people in charge of operations where the lack of knowledge leaves pilots with little support and a ridiculous flow chart of managers who are more concerned with a metric number than ever solving a real problem. Pay has gone to bottom of the industry with attrition far outpacing hiring. Dozens of bases go out of service daily simply for no pilot but the company’s fights on nonsensical items that literally every other ems flyer already provides. Ceo spends millions on out of scope drone programs that never earned a dollar of revenue just to see it evaporate as a loss.

Pros

Mission of saving lives is powerful. Great pilots, clinicians, and mechanics are in it for the right reasons. It used to be a place I was proud to work.

Cons

The current executive team breeds infighting and dysfunction. Backstabbing is the norm and the employees have whiplash from changes that are not well thought out. The people in the field are rarely consulted when changes impact them.
