Pros

Unlimited PTO, learning and development stipend

Cons

Everything. Poor communication. Strategic thrash. Unqualified, incompetent and arrogant people in leadership positions. The company demonstrated a severe degree of disrespect and lack of curiosity on how to actually drive results. Nepotism runs rampant at nearly every position and level of the organization. This has fueled so much closed mindedness and ignorance. God forbid you’re someone with the ability to think for themselves - you’ll be ranked an unwilling or insubordinate and be treated as pest needing to be exterminated.

Pros

- Incredibly smart and passionate teammates who are mutually invested in everyone else's success - Fun product in an exciting space - Pay and benefits were great

Cons

- Leadership thrash and misalignment across GTM teams - Frequent lack of focus on priorities -- is it solutions? Is it the enterprise? Is it self-serve? The answer was to do all the things, mediocrely -- and then reduce headcount when nothing stuck. - Doc heavy organization which got in the way of decision-making -- and slowed down debates to a crawl before their inevitable death.

Promising vision, but lack focus

Pros

There is a tremendous opportunity for no-code platforms, although the space is crowded with legacy applications (e.g., Excel) and competitor products (e.g., Asana, Coda, Monday.com, Notion, ServiceNow, Smartsheet). People who activate and are retained love the product. Most people who work at Airtable are growth-oriented and humble.

Cons

The company has a grandiose mission to democratize software development but lacks a coherent strategy for how to do so. "Winning the enterprise" is not a strategy and leadership lacks focus and changes their minds frequently (e.g., whether to be a low floor vs. high ceiling product).
