Pros

I joined the EMEA Airwallex team in March 2021, in the midst of a pandemic. I was nervous, anxious and concerned whether I'd made the right decision to leave a fairly stable job for a new challenge. All I can say is I 100% made the right decision. Kudos to our HR guys because they've got a talent of hiring brilliant people. I feel very lucky to be surrounded by all the guys at Airwallex, both in EMEA and globally. Sure, we're in our infancy so there are bumps in the road but everything is handled in a collaborative way. I'm very excited to be part of the team and can't wait to see where we end up in 1,3,5 years time!

Cons

My only con is that I've not yet been able to meet my team face-to-face and go for a drink!

Good place to work if you are shielded from the CEO

Pros

Colleagues in general are talented, open and willing to help. Multicultural work environment - You learn a lot from those around you. Business outlook is great. The opportunity could be exciting. People work together to come up with innovative solutions. Start-up company has many issues not right, but talented people are working together to fix them. Good office location and deco. Free drinks. Senior management seems to be really good at fund raising.

Cons

The CEO is an ineffective leader. He is rude, arrogant, and lack of respect to people work for him. Some of the older comments say the CEO screams to people - still true today. Don't expect to learn or get inspired from the CEO. No constructive feedback ever. No words of appreciation at all. You may still grow in this company by learning from others, but not from Jack. Good luck if you have to report to him. If you can find a position with someone shielding you from Jack, you would probably enjoy all the Pros above. But if not, try to have at least one 1 on 1 conversation with him in one of your interviews, and think hard if you can deal with him.
