Pros

Airwallex is one of the few Unicorn startups in Australia and I believe has a tremendous amount of ongoing growth potential. Day to day, this means you actively feel part of the success of the business and are constantly challenged with new problems to solve / new roles to step into

Cons

Like many high-growth companies, the environment can feel chaotic at times

Great for those SEEKing nepotism

Pros

Airwallex has a lot of positive press and at least some of the management & HR team are doing their best to address a toxic culture.

Cons

We hire crazy number of new people from Seek. More than 6 have started and quite out of their depth, possible due to the AU Director being from Seek and hiring his buddies. Very bad nepotist.

In the first half of 2020, Airwallex has hired 142 people globally. 27 of those new starters have been in Australia. These new joiners have come from many different companies across Melbourne as well as interstate and internationally. People continue to be the number 1 priority for management - this includes hiring the right talent, ensuring we have the right retention and development programme in place, and ensuring that we build a diverse culture. We are a company whose culture is continually evolving and are always seeking to grow and improve. I see you have been with Airwallex for 1-2 years and so I hope you have seen the diverse range of people we have brought in to the company over this time. You would also know about our internal referral program, so I would encourage you to reach out to HR or your line manager with people who you think could be a great fit for any of our roles or to offer other ideas on companies we should be hiring from.
