Pros

The company is a good fit if you need to get your "foot in the door for experience".

Cons

Stay away from this company unless you are OK with dealing with the nepotism they are known for. The entire upper management are all related and you will find this out after a few weeks of working for the company. Also, they somehow get away with paying $1.75-3.75 lower then the competing firms for doing the exact same work which might not seem like a huge deal but wears on you over time.

Pros

None so far, I am still waiting to hear from anyone at the company on what should do after being hired back in May 2016 (its now almost September)

Cons

The offer you a lot of training opportunities that you have to pa for but no real answers on how to get assigned to a deployment or help you get staffed. There is very little communication from the leadership even if you send them emails directly. I have followed the advice I ws given concerning licensing and it seems like no one will respond to emails about what the next step is for me. The hiring process consists of an application online, a profile test and then poof you are hired despite never talking to anyone in person or on the phone. You are then required to attend an orientation where you may have to drive a good distance (mine was in Charlotte, NC) at you own expense without reimbursement etc. They also do not pay you for the time you are in orientation, reimburse you for your state licenses or pay you for our time in any of the training classes. Even though you are an "employee", they still treat you like a 1099 contractor.

First, I’m sorry your experience has not met your expectations. Next, I would like to clear up a few misconceptions. If you submitted an application and attended an orientation then you are in our system as an eligible, seasonal W-2 candidate. You do not actually become an employee until you accept an assignment and an offer of employment is extended. At that time (and for the duration of the assignment) you are eligible for the opportunities associated with employee status. Due to the seasonal W-2 relationship, we only pay for training during the time that individuals are actually on assignment. Yes, you are encouraged to seek additional training, increase licensing and gain certifications…all of which increase your qualifications for deployment opportunities regardless of which company contacts you for work. Lastly, orientations are offered at locations around the country. We are not able to meet everyone’s specific preferences; but we try to place focus in areas accessible to the largest groups of applicants. In order to improve your communication with our company, I invite you to call the Corporate Operations Office in Hammond and leave a message for me. I will call you back. Nice People, Confusing Communications

Pros

They provide opportunities for new people in both auto and property and the company is growing. This is why I went with Worley. Orientation was good and provided a lot of information.

Cons

I am new and still learning about the company and the divisions. For my assignment they have 1099's and employees from two of the divisions. Policies (handbook), compensation and benefits are determined by the division who called you for the assignment and isn't fair. Employees called by the new headquarters in Indiana can be eligible for 401k but the other employees won't be. When I finish this assignment I plan on coming back as a 1099 so I can just get the higher pay and not worry about policies and benefits.

Worley has experienced rapid growth organically as well as through several recent acquisitions. This is an exciting time for the company and the entire Worley team is focused on cultural integration and open communication Our commitment to excellence, which has been the foundation of Worley, remains our priority. We have strived to anticipate and understand the concerns of employees and attempt to effectively communicate the large scale changes and timing related to consolidation and integration efforts. We recognize, however, that this cannot happen fast enough for our employees. There is always room for improvement and we will continue to strive to provide more frequent and clear communication regarding our integration efforts. Our most valuable resources are our employees and vendor partners. We are diligently working to provide more consistent processes throughout the consolidated operation that will enable Worley to continue to meet its vision of service excellence – to our customers and employees.
