Great Company - Many Opportunities and Forward Thinking
Pros
I have been working for Worley for over 15 years. I enjoy many aspects of this industry and what it has to offer. Certainly for most of us pay and travel top the list. Beyond the obvious, Worley rewards their employees with great training and leadership. Assignments are challenging and can be overwhelming at times, but management and trainers are available, knowledgeable, and eager to provide support, helping you succeed. It's a great place to start your career and grow with a company that continues to provide opportunity. Advice to those entering the industry, do your homework and ask questions. Management will provide answers and guidance regarding the tools you will need to succeed such as training, licensing, and certifications. Get licensed in as many states as possible (minimum of 15), certified to work for multiple carriers, and participate in training classes offered. If you are not proficient with Xactimate, Symbility, Audatex, Mitchell, or CCC estimating software they can provide training. Worley's training facility, resources, and staff are excellent and very reasonably priced.
Cons
Long days (10hr+) and long assignments away from home are financially rewarding, but can also be difficult and fatiguing. Regulatory change in the industry has forced Worley and all other independent firms to adjust to remain compliant and competitive. The positions still pay great, but having compensation and benefits fluctuate over the past two years has been difficult some to accept.
