      Layers of useless administration at expense of Patient safety and quality of care

      Pros

      The patients and retirement benefits. Fast-paced environment that can be truly rewarding.

      Cons

      Deplorable treatment of nurses. Units are understaffed and nurses work without proper resources. Very punitive environment. Managers promoted through cronyism, rather than experience and qualifications. Needless over-time racked up for manager's friends and for ineadequate staffing-again due to lack of basic managerial skills.

      Great mission and vision for the organization and a deep desire within the company to do the right thing in delivering care to all patients regardless of the ability to pay.

      Cons

      Basic operational functions do not work well and their is a desire by some employees and leaders to keep the organization in the dark ages so they can complain about how hard the work is rather than make things better.
