Toxic work culture

Pros

Remote work, but that comes with HUGE cons!

Cons

I found the entire company extremely pretentious. They make it sound like they are the best employer keeping all their employees happy and healthy while the truth is FAR from it. Their review culture simply pits team members against each other. The team I worked at seeped toxicity. Right from the manager. Not a single positive word, not a single smile ever in any 1:1, constantly complaining about all the negatives, no positive reinforcement whatsoever, extreme micro-management. Working at this company ruined my happiness, killed my self confidence and interest in working in the software industry. The company might be fully remote, but they compensate for it with their atrocious work culture. LOL!

Pros

Pay was decent and flexible pto

Cons

If you are looking for stability, do not join this "team," especially while living in economically uncertain times like this. I expected training to be a little unstructured for a startup, but not to the point of having no clear expectations for SLAs, only to be told they don't exist yet, and then gaslighted and blindsided by unreasonable expectations from a catty, cold, and miserable "leader," who is all about numbers and not meaningful quality work, which should be the real priority for a healthcare company.

Pros

The tool is great. The Benefits are OK, and PTO is standard ... that's about it.

Cons

Too many chefs in the Kitchen. Everyone has different ideas of success. You'll get a project to work on, only to find out that 3 levels above your manager, an executive made a decision to squash the problem at the root. 3 weeks later your work was, and has been pointless and most of the time your hard work goes unnoticed and unrecognized. The communication of the "Squashing" didn't happen, so you had no idea. They also give you fake deadlines that mean nothing to anyone, but they can and will use these deadlines to fire you. For example, March 6th was quality reporting deadline, then around February 4th, they internally created a Feb 21st deadline, which did not matter, as the real deadline was March 6th. Then they send you to DC to a conference the week of Feb 21st and will fire you for not meeting this self-imposed deadline, when in reality the project was to be completed on March 6th. There are snakes EVERYWHERE. They preach HR, and they tell you they have the employees best interest, but I was retaliated against after I complained to HR about literal harassment in the workplace. They make you fill out surveys about leadership every quarter, and tell you the info is confidential... It isn't and they will find anyway to remove you if you don't check 5 stars in every box. The Texas team is highly dysfunctional... They force you to talk about your life outside of work every Monday by rating yourself on a 1-10 scale outside of work. Then you have to describe why you answered this way. The market manager and market president will use this information against you as soon as they get the chance. It's toxic. It's not productive, and they honestly have no idea how to manage people, or accounts.
