Pros

Fair pay, decent benefits, good amount of PTO. Very nice people to work with for the most part

Cons

Alight used to be part of Aon Hewitt. After becoming its own company, everything started going downhill. Crucial parts of the operation were off-shored. Where before teams were assigned to specific clients (where you could gain expertise on that client's services), now the model is many, many clients per customer service team. Also, health benefits benefits started to become more expensive. Finally, and most important to me, the leadership refused to listen to lower-level employees (or refused to ask our advise before implementing changes that affected our day to day work), and refused to acknowledge (and correct) mistakes. All this being said, if you are a new employee you won't know the difference to what a great place to work this company was back when it was called Hewitt Associates, vs what it became as Alight Solutions, and it will be just a decent, if uninspiring, place to work.

Pros

The cafeteria and building were nice.

Cons

-Lack of communication -It would count against your adherence for the day if you didn’t take your lunch break at the exact scheduled minute (even if you were on the phone with a customer) -Felt thrown to the wolves but because I ended up performing well I kept getting new clients when I felt like I was finally getting comfortable with the previous one.

Pros

The team members I've worked with are all top notch. In certain roles, one may have the ability to work from home. Average pay. Average number of vacation days. Decent 401(k). Full complement of benefits.

Cons

Technologically, things are old. Tools used for development are usually unsupported freeware or built in-house to save money. No training for IT people. Benefits are very expensive. They blame the high cost on the employees utilizing the services too much. Average number of vacations days. Only 6 holidays per year. No personal days. Normally about 1 or 2 pct raises, if lucky, Sadly, all IT operations are being sold to WiPro in India. All U.S. IT jobs are in jeopardy. Several rounds of layoffs have occurred in the past few months as a result. Unless you're in a client-facing role or an executive, there are no perks and no recognition. Company's focus used to be on the employee, then the client. Now it's reversed and morale is suffering. No dedicated people managers; just project managers who have to give reviews.
