Cons

Management is terrible. Truly uncommunicative and uncaring. Don't come to Alight expecting to grow your career or skills. You get placed on a 'team' and don't hear from anyone for six + months.

Needs improvements for employees well being

Pros

A consistent paycheck and mediocre benefits. You can work from home.

Cons

The company switched to providing oncall employees a cellular device to giving you $30 to supply your own. The work life balance is horrible for oncall employees. You can expect to work on the weekend doing scheduled work- not just oncall. I currently am on call 2 out of 4 weekends a month. Stress levels are high for infrastructure teams as the company is cutting costs every where all while getting rid of employees to properly handle the work load. The medical benefits get worse every year (company was previously known as part of Aon Hewitt). Last year everyone I encountered received a pay raise around 1%.

Pros

The company is flexible as far as work from home opportunities. The pay was OK. The work was challenging.

Cons

When I left Alight, they were dividing where you worked by domain (DC HM or DB). I got stuck in DB and ended up doing some pretty rudimentary tasks because there was just no work coming in - letting me do work in other domains would have been much healthier from a mental standpoint for me in other areas of the business. I have a lot of friends that still work there that are nervous about when they may get let go from the company due to the RIFs that have been happening. When you want to fix something, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get something simple done. There’s not a lot of room for advancement onshore. I decided to leave after working there for years and have had no regrets - I don’t miss it at all and the grass is a lot greener on the other side.
