The mission is extraordinary and if the scientific team could get on the same page, we might actually create the kind of foundational resources we we're known for in the past.

Cons

Teams are siloed, personality is king, bad behavior is overlooked, and people are too afraid of retribution to actually communicate.

Opportunity to learn, some good benefits (healthcare, vision)

Cons

Promotions are based on who brown noses the manager the most. Lots of back stabbing from other team members and throwing each other under the bus to try and get ahead. Scientists never give clear feedback on what features they need implemented for their data and treat engineers as less intelligent. Was on the receiving end of racial discrimination from other employees due to "passing" as white. Incredibly toxic culture.

World class science and great support from the founder.

Cons

The worst management structure of any place I have ever worked. While the non-profit, "doing science for the right reasons" draw is admirable, the heartless, corporate style of management is dismaying.
