Low Pay and Old Technology

Pros

100% Remote I.T. uses the Agile Scrum software development life cycle. This limits the amount of work and leads to a good work/life balance.

Cons

Low Pay Old technology which is no longer supported by vendors such as SSRS and SSIS. There is a ton of Microsoft Access databases that need to be migrated over to SQL Server and Power Apps or .Net apps. Customers are still using paper checks. The bank manually updates the lockbox file. The management considered questions for clarifying tasks to be "hostile". The scrum masters read down a list of tasks. When a task is blocked they provide no help-- or maybe they have no clue what needs to be done-- and appear eager to continue reading down the list of tasks.

Pros

The company is fully remote which is always nice. They seem to discourage overtime, though that doesn't seem to extend to managers who always seem to be working insane hours.

Cons

The QA team seemingly mostly exists to survail errors made by an underpaid/overworked team in India whos pay can be affected if their error rate is high enough (I also have a feeling they're trying to outsource much more labor to India in the future). The team culture is pretty cold and miserable. Also pay is incredibly low for the work which I suppose is "justified" by the WFH policy.
