no CEOS, president, managers are ever around.

Cons

short staffed, adding more work for us but not giving more staff. Because of their crappy budgeting nurses are running under-staffed daily.

Great job as a paramedic, three day work week, nice area to work.

Cons

Management who loves to discipline (power trip), huge egos everywhere, terrible moral for many years. Suck ups are rewarded instead of quality employees.

Pros

Mission of the organization headed by Connie Wheeler is impressive. Accruing PTO based on the hours worked is nice as is the newly remodeled cafeteria. Nice facility with good lunch options and the greenway walking path. Lots of ways to volunteer and meet people outside your department. Lots of nice people work here.

Cons

The workload for BCBS as a payor is unmanageable. Productivity is tracked but with so many remote workers people who under perform are not accountable. Employees with 5-10 experience do not have to perform at a higher level than new hires. 9 claims per hour so if you can bang it out you can milk the system. Non-management employees are not as important and your work is taken for granted. Case in point, department Christmas party never happened as it usually does, was talked about once or twice, and then no one dared ask about what happened.
