Ally gaslights employees into complete subordination. They lie to you and act like they care and like they listen to employee feedback and surveys but then they use any feedback that goes against their militant orders to blacklist you from future growth.
We were asked to provide feedback on the return to office and a couple people in my department gave honest feedback on how that negatively affects work/life balance and legitimate reasons why this might be difficult such as health problems, childcare closures, extreme inflation coupled with long commutes, inadequate office buildings outside of the Charlotte and Detroit offices that are not conducive to productivity or mental health. I was told this was not a concern as these are my own lifestyle choices. That is appalling that Senior Leadership is that out of touch. All employees who shared constructive criticism and put trust in Ally that they really wanted to work with us and understand our needs and compromise together for the benefit of employees were denied promotions that went to people with less experience that were less qualified. We were all blacklisted from growth by senior leadership.
It is very frustrating that all of the leadership in my department is remote. A large percentage of my department is allowed the autonomy to decide what environment is most conducive to their work yet I am being forced into an office that does not fit with my health and mental health needs, where I can't do my best work and be productive. Where I sit on zoom calls alone all day struggling to concentrate and hear my call due to the noise. Nobody from my team works in the office. Most of them are remote and the few being forced into office are at others sites. It is a really bad look to let some people, especially leadership, on a team be remote while other team members are forced in office.
It is frustrating having all of your concerns twisted while so many in the leadership positions making these decisions are not living by example and are remote. The manager putting out all of the return to work propaganda is remote themselves.
The executive leaders gaslighting us rarely come into office and when they do, they have an entirely different experience than those of us doing the actual work and keeping the company running. They sit in their extravagant, private offices looking down on us minions. They can afford the rising gas costs and homes close to the office. They can afford private nannies so they are not affected by the lack of childcare post pandemic. They don't have to suffer in an office with no natural light or windows, stacked on top of other people where it is impossible to be productive.
Ally keeps saying they respect us yet they do not treat us like adults. The CEO ordered all managers to pull badge scan reports every single week to make sure the employees are going into the office 3 days a week regardless of circumstance. So my manager, who is remote, is forced to micromanage my every move in the building. This is so beyond infantilizing and demoralizing. They could care less about my high quality of work, my participation in team building, growth, development, and motivation etc... All they want is for me to sit in an office alone, on a computer all day with no sunlight, uncomfortable, and sick from all the germs and still pretend to be happy and motivated. I am absolutely miserable now and am having such a hard time feeling appreciated and staying motivated. I am now expected to work 50 hours a week, work late every single day, skip lunches most of the week etc due to the high workload yet I am also expected to lose 15 hours a week of my personal time, unpaid and commuting to go to an office to sit alone while the leaders of my department don't have to waste their own time and money. I have worked here years longer and contributed to multiple different teams in my tenure than other people who are allowed to be remote. There is no rhyme or reason other than if you fit it with the clique of your senior director of your department.
Ally does not respect differences or people who don't fit their mold. They only want corporate drones with no mind of their own and no outside personal lives to interfere with being in office 50 hours a week. This is not equitable.
