Pros

Decent entry level pay and benefits

Cons

Ally is stuck in the past in their view towards remote work. The pay is not worth it to have to work in office 5 days a week.

Pros

Great benefits such as student loan repayment, decent bonuses, 401k match and retirement

Cons

Auto Learning & Development - upper leaders (directors and up) totally out of touch - rampant favoritism, policies that make no sense, can’t be explained, and are not applied to all. No diversity. Promotions are not posted but handed out like candy to friends with no regard for qualifications or job performance. Some allowed to remain remote and others not. Constant chaos and reorganization that keeps staff off balance and focused on “what are they going to do next?” rather than on producing quality work. Pay is below industry averages. SOME - not all - forced to go back to office though job can be more effectively performed remotely. Department is rotting from the inside - not reflective of all departments at Ally.

Pros

Some attention to diversity and growth but it isn't consistent and transparent.

Cons

Senior leadership is controlling and shows extreme favoritism. The company is not transparent like they say, way over controlling, not focused on employees and growth with the times. Always ask our feedback but never listen, twists results and our words in favor of their agenda. Overly concerned with getting skewed results to be a top employer on official lists and publications but don't actually care if employees are happy. Read the reviews and compare before you think about accepting a job here, they have one of the lowest ratings of mid to large size banks on here. There are so many other financial customer service jobs available that are remote and some pay more. It really isn't worth it commuting to a cubicle farm everyday. Discover, Regions, First Bank, First Citizens, Ameris, PNC, M&T, American Express, Charles Schwab etc.... I just took a 100% remote job with US Bank for a little bit more pay and equally as good benefits. The trade off of not losing 100's of dollars a month commuting to office is definitely worth it. It took a while applying to get the job and US Bank for sure is a hard interview process but with dedication you can have a better opportunity. Don't get stuck in this awful call center environment. I do miss so many of my coworkers and even some great managers but the executives at Ally unfortunately do not get it.
