      Nepotism at it's finest

      Pros

      The company's mission is respectable and speaks to the deep divide between the haves and have nots

      Cons

      There is a lot of nepotism and bias in the hiring and promotion. They manage down people and do not walk the talk. The medical clinics do not value good workers and penalize/are vindictive against workers who speak out and question the organization's decisions. Loyalty is valued more over doing what is right and there is a high turnover of nurses. Nurses are not valued and respected in the clinics. They are treated like MA's and are not recognized for their higher education and skill set.

      Pros

      I love my coworkers and the population I work with. I think it's an easy job; the caseload is manageable

      Cons

      As an MSW I do not feel challenged by the work, and there's limited room for growth. Because a lot of supervisors are often not MSWs, they are unable to recognize potential even after it is pointed out. I wish they had LCSWs supervise MSWs. AltaMed does not provide supervision for MSWs that want to work toward licensing, which is the biggest drawback.
