Pros

Nice environment, food at all store meetings.

Cons

Manager does not help. This company plays favorites. I don't feel comfortable trying to hire people because I know what kind of con job this is. My current manager says every meeting, ''We need more people.'' Only for her to turn around and not hire someone because they don't have the "look." If you want a bunch of boho beckies just say that.

Pros

Used to be the pay, but then they did company pay cuts. Cute products and a nice discounts.

Cons

Out of the 4 district leaders I had in 6 months, I never felt truly supported. At first it was “you should’ve learned this in training…” but I have all my notes, we did not go over this. To finally- “stop focusing on the why and just get it done” the same week of working well over 45 hours and being understaffed because paycuts kept making people leave or change their availability. It took me asking the same question at least 3 or 4 times to 2 different people to finally get an answer that would’ve been super simple to explain the first time. There are reports on EVERYTHING. The amount of emails you get is honestly ridiculous. You’re going to get your phone blown up if you don’t see a single email among the 27+ new emails you received overnight, but if you need to get a hold of them fast, good luck cause they’ll get to you when they feel like it. You have multiple hours of calls you need to be on screen for that honestly just take you away from being on the floor. The district leaders and above feel very clique-y and fake. For being a Christian based store, our CEO talks a lot of crap. Honestly, I think the whole company focuses on the bad instead of the good. It’s something I tried to hide from my team, but now that I’m gone, most of them have already given their notice or have told me they are planning on it soon. To the CEO that does not care about these reviews, remember that you need workers to run your stores. I get that you care about guest reviews, but you should also do some reflecting on how previous worker’s respond to the company. I have never in my life wanted to post something on Glassdoor so badly.

Pros

Please… if I could have given zero stars, I would. No dollar amount could stop the bleed. No redeeming qualities. I would sooner pay back my salary than still work there.

Cons

There is this video that the CEO loves and will play on company calls about a tree that takes 5 years of nurturing and caring for before it grows. This is the message they try to convey…That there is care and nurturing happening here. The company calls we’re always so interesting. I’m so glad you get to dance with your children every morning and you can make the time for that. I haven’t seen mine in four days because I’m working twelve hour overnights to handle the 600 online orders that your imperfect system wasn’t designed to handle. That my payroll also wasn’t designed to handle. Coming in to work on a Monday after working until 3am sizing and perfecting piles after a 1400 unit markdown. For what? Just to get an email that you will be receiving a large jewelry push and an extreme shipment load before your inventory in two days? How do you think it feels to be told in so many different ways that you aren’t good enough? That other people are better than you. Being asked, do you really think you’re good at your job? Coming from a company that makes mistakes all over the place lol from overbuying terribly cheap merchandise to e-commerce issues.. disorganized and unnecessary visual tasks that are a detriment to your business. Great idea to remove floor coverage on the week of Black Friday to build a polar bear because the first design just wasn’t good enough lol But let me talk about leadership for a second.. Why is the turnover like this? Why do so many people not make it? Why does everyone walk out and abandon their position at 60/70/80k? This company runs on fear. And when you give your everything, you’ll make it until you show a moment of being human. Then you are seen as weak. Official. Forehead stamped. Now try to get out from underwater.. because they actually need to borrow three of the leaders in the store to support another store where the positions continue to go unfilled. I guess we can just do a bunch of peoples jobs and travel to other stores to support. Which door is my name tied to? Because I’m pretty sure that’s the business I need to protect. When someone comes knockin, they aren’t going to ask me about the stores our team “had to go to.” I was in fight mode for so long. Nothing was ever good enough. You get ahead and they put forth some kind of task to knock you back down. It feels like drowning. It’s abusive. My mental health has suffered greatly since working for this company. Now that I am no longer there, I still have panic dreams about 2 hour long conference calls where you’re getting yelled at and picked on. 88% secret shops for not offering a fitting room to someone carrying a candle.. sitting in front of corporate leaders that belittle you and make you feel small and lower your self worth. With a straight face. While you sit and cry and tell them you’re trying your best. This legacy that’s being left is one stained with 1 star reviews of people who were never going to be good enough for Altar’d State. People you just saw on paper and didn’t know. People you never saw fight for your company until they realized they were fighting alone.
