Pros

My team was the best! Cute products. Great guests!!!

Cons

I loved my team and I was very sad to leave. But the Regional VP makes everyone's life miserable. If for whatever reason she doesn't like you, you are the worst creature on Earth. She tries to dig up "dirt" on you and your team which is the worst! Who does that?! My DM was great but over-worked and I don't think the RVP likes her so visits always felt like I was in high school. When your mgrs worked 50-80 hrs a week to get things done, that means you're not giving us enough payroll hours to run the business. And maybe offer a comp day every now and again as a thank you! There is no communication between upper management so most of the time, mgrs are caught in the middle and blamed for stupid stuff that could have been avoided. Again, I loved my team and what the company wanted to stand for. I hated to leave but couldn't stand to be talked down to and made to feel like an idiot.

Pros

-Discount was pretty good at 40% with the occasional 50% off -Had good ideals with giving back in your personal community and abroad -Associates were wonderful to work with -Made me grow as a manager and person -Only good thing to come from all of the stress and being miserable is that it made me ready to go back to school

Cons

Where do I even start?? -NO work/life balance. Salaried managers are payed for 40 hrs, required to work 45, but most weeks worked 48-55. -Pay is abysmal for the amount of hours we work and the amount of pure CRAP we have to do. -Deadlines constantly were unattainable to reach without the store looking sub-par and that was unacceptable -Customers are to be number 1 priority(which is how it should be) but then tasks don't get completed which then falls on salaried managers. This then makes you work well past 50 hours. -One week I worked 72 hours because corporate was coming and then HATED how we had our store set up and made us change it. -Corporate visits are beyond stressful. They talk down to everyone and act like they know best and that we don't know how to run our own store that we are in 50+ hours a week unlike them who visit once every 5 months, if they even visit. -Each district has 2 District Managers who were always contradicting each other and speaking to management like the were 5 years old. -If you are involved in floorsets/markdowns, be prepared to work overnight with 12+ hours under your belt -They preach that they are about promoting from within but I know of MULTIPLE instances when an opportunity arose to move up and knew of several ASMs interested in taking the positions but they ALWAYS hired from outside of the company and the ASMs I knew who were beyond ready to move up where told they were not ready even when they had the support of their current Store Manager

Pros

My team and the employee discount. Having freedom with visuals and being able to make your store your own to an extent

Cons

I'm going to spare you all the details. If you look at the reviews from previous managers that were smart enough to get out all the negative things they say are true. It's horrible. We recently had a meeting in Tennessee and the company slammed current employees for not defending the company against all the negative reviews. So the last three or four decent reviews are from the current employees crazy enough to listen. They are fabricated out of fear of the higher ranking officals. My advice to anyone considering working for this company is simply don't. It's not worth it I promise.
