      Pros

      Been with Altar'd State almost 3 years and love coming to work most every day (no job is perfect). Success is found by being present, accountable and willing to step outside your comfort zone. Retail is not for everyone, but I enjoy interactions with guests (even the not-so-pleasant ones) and telling people about our give back mission. It's great to know you can make a difference in the world just by coming to work every day.

      Cons

      Retail is a tough environment (dog-eat-dog). You have to be able to take criticism, which is not always presented pleasantly, and be able to pull out the lesson(s) without feeling beat down. That is not always easy. If you are looking for a job where you can choose pretty clothes and play dress up, Altar'd State (and retail in general) is not the place for you.

      -Friendly customers -Positive employees WITHIN the store -Trendy clothes with decent discount 40% off

      Cons

      -No personal and work life divison (full time employees make this company their life, forget about friends/family) -Lack of encouragement/positivity from people within the company (upper management, other stores, corporate, etc.) -No/poor communication from upper management -Pay is low and not much room for growth for young employees
