Pros

It's heading in the right track but far from there.

Cons

This company has the right idea however it doesn't have the right people. Because they don't have the proper staff with the amount of new stores they are opening, they are promoting from within before they are actually ready for the position. Also, without having proper staff the current employees are getting more work then they should. The pay is awful for the amount of work they expect. If you are going for an assistant manager role choose anything except for visual. The company doesn't give visuals the amount of time to actually do their job properly. PLEASE stop with the degrading flower crowns, aprons or any other piece you expect grown men and woman to wear.

Altar'd State Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We work hard to provide career opportunities to our associates, and we are thrilled when they're able to advance into new roles. Many of our current top-performing Store and District Leaders started with us as Brand Reps, Guest Leads or Assistant Store Leaders, and our hope is that our talented, newer associates find this level of commitment to promoting internally encouraging. Regarding the pay we offer our associates, our base pay rates are among the best in our industry at $15 / hour for part-time Brand Reps and $17 / hour for part-time Guest Leads. Base pay for full-time Assistant Store Leaders starts at $24 / hour and base salary for our full-time Store Leaders starts at $60,000 / year. Thank you again for your feedback, we appreciate your hard work while you were a part of our team and we wish you the best in your new pursuits.

Physically and Not

Pros

The people that physically work in my store are A M A Z I N G and that is truly an understatement. I love my team, they are so supportive and understanding, I feel like I am around family when I am there. I love the atmosphere and how everyone is loving. I am gay and my wife and I feel more than comfortable spending time with the people I work with. This is my part time job so I am not there every day, but I do love being there when I can!

Cons

The people who work outside of my store (the district leaders and the "higher ups") are horrible. They are pushy, they do not care about you as a person and they are mean. They are constantly making my current boss cry and telling her that she is not working hard enough (which is crazy because she is THE nicest person I have ever met and works SO hard every day, giving 120%. They fired my last boss because they said that she was not making them enough money, even though before the mall closed for quarantine, she had brought the store out of negative. Then when we had just come back from the mall being closed due to CORONA, they fired her even though no one wanted to spend money or leave their houses because they were scared for their lives. They are not understanding and are very very frustrating. I am putting in my two weeks because of them.

Pros

Good discount? Worked with great people.

Cons

The hours are incredibly inconsistent... managers do not pay attention to time off requests. My store location was filled with incredible people who encourage me to be the best person I could be. However, district managers fired out store manager with no explanation and no communication to lower employees. The whole situation was very unprofessional. Ever review about poor upper management is true! This company is corrupt and needs to do some serious internal evaluation before they are ever at a point that I would recommend employment. Considering they are a “Christian” company, I have never seen this value delivered to their employees. The store location I worked at was filled with incredible employees and incredible people, however many either left or were fired due to PERSON ISSUES and RUMORS. I am heartbroken by the internal issues of this company. Working for them definitely ruined my opinion of their brand. Issues are definitely based at the higher level of management. Please consider this before applying.
