Not family friendly work environment

Pros

Relaxed work environment, spend more time discussing work than actually working, higher than usual salaries. Pretty much they pay for you to be a friend.

Cons

They have 100% paid maternity leave which is amazing but once you have the child you are considered “not a good addition to the team” if you have to leave by 6:00pm or go to a school event. They do not want their employees to choose family over the company.

Pros

1.) The overall culture is great outside of IT. There are coworkers who don't come into work until 10AM and just stay later. This is allowed in most departments 2.) The entire giveback culture is great 3.) There are people within IT who truly care about the company and individuals.

Cons

1.) IT leadership is lacking on most levels, especially levels above middle managers. This leadership has pushed away entire teams, the main reason I left the company 2.) Pay is low for IT, this is ultimately reason two I ended up leaving 3.) They push great places to work, but when IT answered honestly, the CEO pulled us together for hours of meetings on why our answers were wrong. This has happened to multiple departments and makes employees not want to answer honestly. 4.) The company has been through 4 CIO's during my employment 5.) IT is overworked and there are people on the team who are expected to answer their phones 24/7, even on holidays and weekends 6.) The culture that IT leadership is building, doesn't match the culture of the company. IT is required to be in the office 9 - 6. IT is expected to be overworked. IT isn't shown the appreciation of other teams There are issue within IT that causes crazy , lack of appreciation, and most of this stems from leadership on director level and above
