- The culture. As many have said before, the culture at Altec reeks of favoritism, nepotism, and borderline neglect. While there, I had seen people get pulled into and pulled out of positions because of who liked them and who didn't like them. I have seen micromanagement from upper management drive people mad. I have seen times where upper management has made demoralizing and downright wrong comments directed at people with no accountability. I have seen where internal suppliers get away with sending plants unacceptable products with no repercussions, which costs the company time and money. I have seen accidents and injuries be minimized for the sake of maintaining a safety record. Ultimately, these all cause a lot of tension and general disdain in the workplace. - RCI events.... Where to start? Don't get me wrong, the concept is great.... Taking an issue within the plant, gathering a team, and addressing that issue then, afterward, reporting out on it. The main issue is that Altec forces these one week events, many times with little to no forward planning, and then expects those who are apart of them to do both their everyday jobs and the responsibilities given to them in the event. At the end of the event, inflated savings numbers are thrown out to try to impress management, many times nothing is really accomplished. Again, this is a great concept, but what is expected of people during these events is many times impossible, which leads to rushed decisions and results. - Vacation. Let's just say that other places are far ahead of Altec in giving employees time off.

Current management doesn't know the value of knowledgable, long term associates. Too concerned with making change for change's sake
