Pros

Good work life balance, mental health days.

Cons

Company has lost the people first culture it used to have under Dean. The new management barely communicates with employees and when they do it comes across as gimmicky compared to the older company culture of transparency. Silos everywhere, lack of transparency.

Thank you for telling us about your experience here at Alteryx. The leadership team and I believe that transparency is critical to any well-run organization, and it's certainly an attribute of the one you deserve. Our companywide all hands, town halls within individual organizations, and our regular email communications are some of the ways we're committed to sharing as much information as often as we can. If you have any recommendations for how we can do better in these efforts, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thanks, David

Pros

- Pay is decent - Nice culture of smart engineers - many opportunities to build and create - innovation days - encouragement to learn and opportunities to do so - Product is coming together as an organization

Cons

- The product was originally a Windows Desktop app in C++. - There is an overemphasis on pre-optimization where as development time, deployment cycles, test-ability, and maintenance are after-thoughts. - Many parts of the code has no product or engineering ownership, and it tends to get thrown on some poor team to deal with it. - Engineering needs a CTO - one that understands long term projects, and not 6 month projects

Pros

Great company culture, Great people

Cons

Infosec team's hiring practices are very nepotistic and do not reflect the overall values of the company. Hiring focuses on bringing in new people and not at all on the morale of an existing team
