Pros

If you are lucky enough to be in orgs that have sane leaders you can benefit from numerous opportunities to collaborate with other great minds to be impactful and use technology to solve complex and ambiguous business problems. Solid writing based culture promotes continuous learning and dissemination of information.

Cons

Nested leadership with L7 reporting to other L7s can be very limiting. Insecure Sr Managers create toxic environment based on self preservation and are highly biased and non-inclusive. Goals are set aside to focus on building their own loyal base to oust any high performing individual who is perceived as a threat to their career. The LP’s are twisted around as needed to blame and persecute team members who do not fall in line with the L7 Senior Manager schemes.

Too many mediocre managers who don’t understand how to motivate or grow their employees.
